The Timken M11 Miniature Commutating Modular Magnetic Encoder is the smallest off-axis commutating modular magnetic encoder on the market.
Like other patented Timken encoders, the M11 offers a superior solution to optical encoders with resolutions up to 1024 PPR/12 Bits. Its patented magnetic technology provides clear operational advantages over conventional optical encoders in tough, dirty or other extreme environments.
How it Works
The M11 offers line open collector quadrature outputs, line drivers on high resolution and commutation outputs and includes a reference pulse option.
The magnetic target is marked for shaft positioning alignment.
Like our other encoders, air gap tolerance makes installation of the hub quick and easy. The M11 also includes electromagnetic interference (EMI) protection circuitry.
Why the M11?
Timken’s patented differential magnetic sensor circuit design protects the M11 from interfering magnetic fields. Plus, an 800 KHz data rate allows up to 12,000 RPM.
The 1.1 inch diameter M11 fits NEMA 11 motors and has a temperature capability of 125⁰C, which is higher than most optical encoders. This encoder is the most accurate magnetic encoder in its class, making it ideal for small brushless DC motors and servomotors.
